August is peak typhoon season in Macau. The weather bureau expects 5–8 tropical cyclones to affect Macau in 2026. Early August already saw a storm along the Guangdong coast with signals hoisted. The top question: "Are you open tonight? Is transfer still on?" Here's the clear answer.
Storm signals in two minutes
- Signal 1 — Storm nearby at sea; city runs as normal.
- Signal 3 — Stronger winds; city mostly normal but taxis are scarce. Free private transfer via this site is the safest option.
- Signal 8 or above — Public transport stops. Stay safe; message us to reschedule.
Rainstorm warnings
Summer also brings rainstorm warnings. Walking is not recommended in heavy rain — but our cars still run, hotel lobby to venue door. Rainy nights are often the cosiest inside.
